STATEMENT OF APOSTOLIC NUNCIO TO BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA ABOUT INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION FOR MEDJUGORJE

by admin on March 25, 2010

Archbishop Allessandro D’Errico, Apostolic Nuncio to Bosnia and Herzegovina, gave statement about Medjugorje on March 18th at the end of 48th Bishop’s Conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the statement broadcasted by Radio Mir Medjugorje, he amongst other things said: “Whenever I would meet Holy Father, he was always very much interested in Medjugorje. He was involved in everything, starting with the time when he was Head of Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. He is aware that this is the issue of special importance, and he, as supreme authority of the Church, needs to give his precise statement about that matter. Holy Father is very much familiar with Medjugorje phenomenon; he even mentioned that to me personally. He is aware of huge amount of positive and good influence of local priests, religious, Franciscans, lay people, and therefore, it is very difficult for him to perceive that there can be so many opposing information about the same matter.

That is why he wanted to establish this Commission that is on really high level. He wanted to establish this Commission in order for him to have broad picture about this matter, but according to the people who have highest qualities and skills. That is why he invited Cardinals, Bishops and experts from different parts of the world to be part of this Commission.

On March 17th it was officially announced that Chairman of this Commission is going to be Cardinal Ruini, very prestigious cardinal, who has great qualities, and also close associate to Holy Father, and his friend not only in this period while he is the pope. Cardinal Ruini is very much familiar with situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina; he especially knows the situation from the war period, when he used to be President of Bishop’s Conference of Italy. At that time, he brought decision that Italian Church and Bishop’s Conference of Italy become more involved in helping to all wounded nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

What is especially interesting, and shows Holy Father’s great sympathy for this country, is that he wanted this information about Commission to be announced publicly at the same time, both in Vatican as well as in Mostar, since Medjugorje is in territory of Mostar Diocese. I know well that media spoke a lot about this Commission for a longer period of time, and certain expectations were made. Today, we can say that we are pleased and grateful to Holy Father for this attention that he expressed towards Mostar and our Catholic communities. That is how I, on behalf of Holy Father, announced this decision on March 17th, at the same time when decision was announced in Rome. We understand that work of this Commission is going to be very demanding, and I would like to invite all of our communities to pray and to offer work of this Commission to St. Joseph and to Mary, Mother of Church, patron saints of Mostar.

It is about time that the Vatican becomes serious about the miracles happening in Medjugorje. What is Mary asking us to do?What are the five stones reminding us to do?Is all this against church teaching?I have been to Medjugorie three times in my mid- seventies by myself. With the help of strangers,I was able to climb both Apparition
Hill and Cross Mountain twice. The warm feeling of peace and love remain with me still.

I am very pleased to hear that a commission has been established to investigate the apparitions occurring in Medjugorje, ( you will note that I did not include the wording alleged apparitions). The reason for this being is I experienced an apparition myself together with three other pilgrims from Perth Western Australia ( each confirmed with each other, what each witnessed, the event described was consistent with each person.) This event ocurred in 1991, on the eve of the feast day of the Assumption.
Prior to the apparition of seeing a Lady standing in a cloud on top of Mt Podbro we all witnessed a miracle of the sun, viz spinning, coming out of the sky and passing over our heads several times, the phenonema lasted approx 20 minutes, the apparition lasted approx 10 seconds, the Lady had Her hands in prayer, floating past us standing in a cloud suspended in the sky. We also saw what appeared to be Jesus coming out from the sun with his hands outspread towards us.

I have been back to Medjugorje five times since that event and each time I go I experience total inner peace within myself, a strong desire to pray the rosary several times each day, 5 – 6 times. I also experience some small event or experience. My last visit during the adoration of the cross I witnessed blood coming from the body of Christ. After adoration I checked the cross there was no sign of blood.
I am planning to be in Medjugorje this year for the feast of Our Lady of The Rosary.

I trust and pray that the commission will be prudent in their investigation, so as to confirm the apparitions. I understand this will take some time. It is my understanding that apparitions are not approved until after the work of Our Lady has been completed, so as not to interfere with work of Our Lady

I have become very close to the Blessed Mother. I say the rosary at least 2x daily, the pratice of the three hail marys, the angelous and the Holy Family prayer. I teach my 2nd graders the rosary at the beginning of the year and keep them informed about our Blessed Virgin Mary. I met a Jesuit at a mission in FL March and he told us about Medugorje. I want to take my cousin who is a Catholic priest to Medugorje.

I hope the commission does a truthful investigation.

I went to Medjugorje when I was 18 back in 1986. I was young but had a good faith foundation and a strong devotion to Our Lady. I went to Medjugorje hoping to experience a miracle, but what I found was the inner peace I have been reading about in the comments of this website. I too remember saying 7 Rosaries in one day. I was there only 3 days. I walked Cross Mountain when the path was still jagged rocks. To this day I long to return. I firmly believe what the visionaries say about Medjugorje, that “no one comes to Medjugorje by accident. Each is called by Our Lady”. I am glad to see that a commission has been established by the Vatican and the Holy Father, and if it be God’s will, all will know that Our Lady is truly appearing at Medjugorje.

My wife and I just returned from a visit to Medjugorje. Like many others, we witnessed the miracle of the sun both pulsing and spinning. Also, we observed current photos by members of our pilgrim group showing the open eyes of the statue in front of St. James Church. One of the biggest miracles for us was the ability to climb Cross Mountain by my brother (had a double knee replacement recently), and myself.
We continue with the daily Rosary, and have begun the recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. I just have to fit in the daily Mass into my work life and I will be happy.
I firmly believe that we were called by Our Lady, and I’m so happy that we made it there. My heart sings with love and longing for her and Jesus. I would go back in a heart beat if I could.
The rocks on Cross Mountain are still there, as is the jagged path where you have to take “one step at a time”. Maybe this is to teach us to “Walk carefully on the path to the Cross.”

Chief Artist of The United States Army I’ve been pilgrimaging to Medjugorje since 1986… 20 times including this year. I have been graced and blessed with many miracles except one time when I went of my own will. That time was very flat! Just like staying home on the dullest day of the year. We need a call- a compelling heartfelt want to go for the sake of love of Our Lord and Lady. Last year In Medjugorje I was filled 6 times with The holy Spirit… as if pumped with life to the max each time. In 2006 I saw a meteorite fly over my head with a burning bright red tail about 1/2 mile long. It had a blazing white hot ball in front; In 1987 I saw my own father in apparition one year after he died insuring me that he got to heaven (who wouldn’t like to know that). He was dressed as a priest. Although he was a Protestant, he recieved the Eucharist by a Chaplain in a VA Hospital when close to the end of his life. It appears that God honored him in a very special way which filled me with love and gratitude ; more than 40 times I’ve seen the sun spin and shower colors, for years after returning to the USA; I’ve heard Our Lady offer to show me a miracle BEFORE it happened- the cross on Cross Mountain was hit with 3 perfectly round spotlights of light; I was healed of back difficulties; worries; and many other things throughout my trips, at least 3 miracles each time. Some who I took over wanted to get these miracles but did not because they didn’t go for “their Mother”… but just for themselves. We have to adjust our hearts desires in truth, not lie to ourselves, and give God the best chance to reach our heart that we can, and try to reach Him with every way we know, especiall fasting, believing fully and adoration. He responds on His own will, with great gifts of love in His own way including gifts like those I mention above. I pray for your union with God and Mary as one loving family. Especially those who have no one and The Poor Souls in Purgatory who live on earth… those desolate of love.

I went with a large group to Medjugorje in June 1991, the 10th anniversary. We were so impressed by the occasion, saw the miracle of the sun and others. One cannot help but feel the holiness and inner peace that was felt by us all. It changed us all, and since then we have been having regular monthly meeting praying together as Our Lady asked and thanking her for being with us so long. It is about time that the Holy Father looked into the Medjugorje phenomenon. We look forward to the messages every month and our devotion to Our Lady continues to be a high point in our lives. I wish more persons would experience such an unabashed devotion to the Mother of God.

I am a Legionary of Mary here in Istanbul Turkey. It is been a long time I heard about Medjugorje, I prayed a lot that one day I may visit the Mothers village and God granted it, and what I had seen is unbelievable, the first time in my life I saw how people are joined together in prayer, in the Holy Adoration , in praying the Holy Rosary after the Mass, wow, it was so great and amazing to see people in ONE HEART what A Miracle in my experience, Truly the presence of GOD is in MEDJUGORJE

I was able to visit Medjugorie September 2008. I was privileged to be Lector at Mass and marvelled at the Peace and Serenity that permeated this whole Village and Shrines. I was amazed to find myself reciting two and three Rosaries a day while attending Church Services two or three times a day. I had never been a very prayerful person, but I am now. Pre-visit I might have said three Rosaries a year now I say two or three a day faithfully. I certainly experienced a Mystical event in my life.

My husband and I have been to Medjugorje several times – firstly in 1985 when the village was very basic – few had modern plumbing or running water even in this communist dominated parish. We were surprised therefore to see the cross on Cross Mountain was very brightly illuminated and wondered at the villagers extravagance. Next day we climbed the mountain but could find no electric wires leading to the cross – we had seen a miracle. I then decided to walk the path I saw leading towards Apparition Hill – to me the pathway was clear but to my husband it was not there at all – he was torn by briars and eventually had to give up though I tried to show him the path I could see. This first visit was for just a couple of days but left my husband with criticism so we did not return for 21 years – in 2006 when we saw the spinning sun on several evenings during the apparition (between 6.40 and 7pm) and attended Mirjana’s 2nd June apparition in the Oasis of Peace – I felt the arrival of Our Lady in a wind which showered me with dew from a tree above me – I had at that moment such a strong knowledge that Our Lady was there and had noticed me – I, who had never said a rosary, have said one daily since that experience – often more than one. I think of that as a Damascene Conversion – since June 2006 I have become a devout Christian – attend daily mass if possible – fast on Wednesdays and Fridays – Before this experience I was on the brink of leaving the church through lack of faith – I thought of Christ as a great prophet like Mohammet and that he was the son of an unmarried woman called Mary!
Since 2006 My husband and I have returned twice more – in September 2007 when I had several miraculous experiences. On Friday 7th September at 6.55pm I and 3 others saw Our Lady standing in the sun with her hands holding a red cross over her heart. The sun just came through a heavy cloud and there she stood. She was very clear and definite – like a clear photograph.
