IVANKA'S ANNUAL APPARITION
The visionary Ivanka Ivankovic Elez had her regular annual apparition June 25, 1995. According to the testimony of the visionaries themselves, four of them (Vicka, Marija, Ivan and Jakov) are still always having daily apparitions, while Mirjana and Ivanka have an apparition once a year. At her last daily apparition May 7, 1985 Our Lady told Ivanka that she will have an apparition once a year on the anniversary of the apparitions. It was that way also this year. Ivanka had the six minute apparition at her family home at the end of which she brought this message of Our Lady to those present: "Our Lady blessed every one present at the apparition. She spoke to me about the secrets. She called us to pray for families because Satan desires to destroy them. In addition, Our Lady called on all people to be messengers of peace."
At the end Ivanka added: "Now I will have to wait a whole year again for another meeting."
PEACE MARCH
The Peace March we announced in previous issues of the Press Bulletin took place for the fourth year in a row on June 24, 1995, the vigil of the anniversary of Our Lady's apparitions in the parish of Medjugorje. Abut 2,000 pilgrims from all parts of the world took part in this 13 kilometer long prayer march from Humac to Medjugorje. Even though not speaking the same language, they all understood each other and came together in a common prayer for peace. Above all, they prayed for peace in the regions of Croatia and Bosnia-Hercegovina.
AUSTRALIAN BISHOP VISITS MEDJUGORJE
Bishop Henry Kennedy from Australia attracted the curious glances of many pilgrims and those others present in Medjugorje for the 14th anniversary of Our Lady's apparitions. For the third year he came to Medjugorje and moved around wearing all the signs of his episcopal office. He said he simply felt in his heart that he had to do it that way. He wishes for the Church as soon as possible to recognize Medjugorje like Fatima and Lourdes. He feels peace in Medjugorje and a certain very agreeable, friendly flow between people that he would also wish to feel among people in Australia. He is not afraid of the war because there is no war in Medjugorje. He regrets that many untruths about this war have been circulated and he wishes for the Croatian people to succeed in their just struggle.
MISSIONARY TRAVELS OF FR. SLAVKO BARBARIC
From July 3 - 8 Fr. Slavko spread Our Lady's message in the Czech Republic. In Prague on July 3 he visited and blessed the space of the publishing house "Verite" which is situated in a monastery. During the communist reign of terror it was a prison in which also today's President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Havel, was held. The same day there was a "Medjugorje program" in the parish church of Kyov and then in the cultural center which before had served for Communist Party meetings and marxist training. A program of prayer was held July 4 in Rati kovici and Karlin. From July 5 - 7 Fr. Slavko took part in the the 18th Colloquium of European parishes together with 4 bishops, about 140 priests and a great number of laity, and men and women religious. After the solemn holy mass a "Medjugorje Program of Prayer" was held. The prayer was for peace in Europe.
A large number of people were present at all the meetings. The message of Medjugorje is alive and is renewing the Czech Republic.
MUSIC DAYS IN MEDJUGORJE
Music Days 95 in Medjugorje will be held July 22, 29 - 30, 1995. On the program for the first evening are serious musical works composed for this occasion. On the second night two original performances of a Croatian Mass composed by Ivan Brkanovi} and Boris Papandopul will be given. On the final evening, July 30, ten of the best known names from the Croatian musical scene will introduce the audience to contemporary spiritual compositions.
