Risen Christ
These beautiful replicas of the "Risen Christ" statue in Medjugorje are made by the original sculpture, Andrej Ajdic, from Slovania. The statue in Medjugorje was created in 1998, and from the year 2000 has been miraculously dripping from the right knee. Physisists have visited the site to investigate and no scientific explanation can be found.
Ajdic's Christ belted with a newspaper depicts a figure, hips emphemerally encircled, stepping from the cross, a symbol of terrestrial suffering; His arms are stretched out as they had just been nailed to the cross, and at the same time, spread out in praise and embrace of His people. The resurrected Christ has saved the world with His death.
The Ressurection praises this Redemption: the silhouette of Jesus Christ remaining on the Cross, represents the eternal presence of God on this earth. The trace of beauty in the sculptor's Resurrection, and with it the eternal miracle of the Ressurection, will now be placed in Medjugorje. In the place where all the paths are leading to Her, God's mother Mary will now, as the third day after the crucifixion, be joined by her Son. In the middle of the arid, stony land of Herzegovina a statue will rise, it will rise up to the sky, as a crown to everything: a cry of a man's prayer and a crucifix of God's redemption.
